Welcome to
the Digital Construction Primer (DigiKon)!

DigiKon is an application developed by the Institute of Constructive Design (IKE) at the Department of Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering at ZHAW. It teaches the basic principles of design thinking and shows ways to achieve sustainable, material-conscious construction.

To get started, the sandbox invites you to put together your own designs and try out constructive solutions in a playful way. On this basis, DigiKon suggests suitable references, i.e., real buildings that resemble the chosen design.

Each reference contains a construction animation that shows both the structural nodes and the entire building step by step, illustrating the construction process.
